How can we help you?
There is a librarian on duty at all times.
We can help you find information for an assignment, search the internet,
and give on-the-spot help with using software.
The most important thing to remember is ask for help!
You can also email a librarian for help from our Library homepage.
Check out the Library web page!
http://library.eliz.tased.edu.au
That’s where you’ll find links to our catalogue,
online databases, help guides and lots more.
Borrowing Materials
You can borrow up to 12 items for two weeks.
Reserve Collection, magazines and audiovisual equipment (cameras
etc) are for overnight loan only and must be returned by
8:30 am the next day. Photography students may borrow SLR
cameras for 3 days.
You’ll need written permission from a teacher to borrow any
digital equipment. Your teacher must make an online booking for
this.
SLR camera equipment can only be borrowed by
photography students.
Student behaviour guidelines for the Library
The Library is the main private study area in the College.
Students’ co-operation in maintaining an effective study
environment
in the Library is expected and appreciated.
All work in all areas of the Library is to be carried out
quietly, respecting the needs of other users.
Users will act co-operatively in making the fairest and most
efficient use of resources.
Every care will be taken with Library materials and equipment.
The fiction area is for individual reading only.
The carrel area is for individual study. Some carrels are
designated for silent study.
All computers are for individual work only.
All students should be familiar with the College's computer use
agreement. Computer use is monitored by Library staff using a
remote monitoring system. Your on-screen work may be viewed at
any time.
Food and drink are not to be consumed in the Library. They are
to remain in your bag at all times. This includes water, chewing
gum and lollypops etc.
Mobile telephones must be switched off at all times.
Bags may be brought into the Library. Please keep them with
you at all times. We reserve the right to inspect all bags
brought into the Library.
Please note that you should not leave any valuable items
unattended.
The seminar rooms are only to be used by supervised groups.
Students will be asked to leave the Library for a period of time
if their behaviour is not acceptable. Ongoing problems will be
referred to the Student Support team.
